Today we oficially launched the project, at the Village National Museum, in the presence of Ivan Patzaichin, Ms. Paulina Popoiu (manager of the Village Museum), Mr. Valentin Marin (Romanian Ornithological Society), Governor of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reservation Association, Lucian Eduard Simion, and the vice president of thei "Ivan Patzaichin - Mila 23" Association, Mr. Teodor Frolu.

2015 – The Year of Ecotourism in the Danube Delta
Bucharest, October 24, 2014 - “Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23” Association have presented today at the National Village Museum "Dimitrie Gusti", one of the largest and boldest projects of sustainable development and ecotourism infrastructure for the benefit of communities in the Danube Delta.
“I was and remain very tied to the Danube Delta, where I was born, I learned to paddled and made me respect for people and nature. Always build projects together with local people, helping them to identify the best ways to improve the local economy. I wish that through the “Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23” Association we will help the Delta become, as soon as posible, Europe's Queen of Ecotourism” Ivan Patzaichin said.
The first integrated package of ecotourism in the Delta will be available in Spring Crisan-Caraorman triangle-Mila 23. Tourists will enjoy first landscaped area for birdwatching in Romania (Bird Sanctuary - Caraorman) and will discover the local gastronomy show culinary route "Fish like to Mila 23 ". Crisan Rowmania Ecotourism Center will provide routes for 3-5 days visiting triangle canotca ecotourism.
Caraorman + Triangle + Mila 23 Crisan will become the core of ecotourism destinations with private label products and services that promote local cultural traditions. The project also aims to define a common identity of the area within these localities, the first step in obtaining accreditation ecotourism destination. The project partnership was formed to develop and promote eco-tourism destination Danube Delta, formed by local tour operators and community representatives.
The "+ Caraorman + Mila 23 Crisan - Ecotourism for the future" includes the following activities:
• Construction of facilities for birdwatching bird Sanctuary from Caraorman;
• Building infrastructure for tourism information and guidance to Crisan
• "Ecotourism in school" - educational package for pupils from 3 localities (biodiversity, responsible tourism, local traditions, values eco)
• Training ecotourism operators pensions
• Fishery households culinary trail "Fish as Mila 23"
• Point of information on ecotourism in the Danube Delta National Village Museum, located on Lake Herăstrău nesting islands, which can be visited by dinghy Delta publicly available for direct experience.
• Defining marketing identity of the triangle Crisan - Caraorman - Mila 23
Crisan + + project Caraorman Mile 23: Ecotourism for the future is financed by the amount of 142,909.02 Euro through the EEA grants from 2009 to 2014, in the NGO Fund in Romania, and although it is mainly located in the triangle Crisan - Caraorman - Mila 23 activities that we propose can be sustainable development solutions for the entire Delta.
The project is realised by “Ivan Patzaichin - Mila 23” Association in partnership with the Romanian Ornithological Society (ROS), and and enjoys the support of relevant strategic partners: Danube Delta Biosphere Reservation Administration, Crisan City Hall, Asociația de Ecoturism din România.
